Meirion is a partner in the CM International Group and Director and founder of CMI in the UK. He has 20 years experience of managing and delivering consultancy assignments for a wide range of public and private clients on 3 continents and across a wide range of sectors. His expertise covers innovation, venture capital, information technology and sustainable development having worked in the private, public and academic sectors including for Ford of Europe, Welsh Development Agency and Cardiff Business School.
Meirion established the ‘Observatory for Innovation’ at Cardiff Business School in 1994 to undertake research in the field of innovation strategy and management and in 1997 became a director and partner in CM International Group.
Meirion has also acted as a Director of Finance Wales plc, a public-private investment fund and as Chairman of the Cardiff-based creative industries specialist company, the Cultural Enterprise Service Ltd.
Meirion has a good knowledge of Welsh, holds a degree in economics from the London School of Economics and a Master degree in Management and Technology from the University of Wales.
Dylan is a senior consultant and project manager in the UK office. He has over 12 years’ experience of managing research and consultancy projects, having joined CM International in 1998 after completing his PhD in regional innovation. Dylan’s expertise covers innovation in regional governance systems and he is an experienced manager of complex research and evaluation projects in this area. He maintains a strong interest in policy and programmes intended to boost innovation and entrepreneurial behaviours.
Dylan holds a degree in Geography from the University of Manchester; a Masters in Technological change and Regional Development and a PhD in Regional innovation from Cardiff University.
Eva Trier is a senior consultant and project manager in the UK office. She has over 10 years experience in the economic development, innovation and sustainability arena where her activities have ranged from supporting multinational businesses to enhance their innovation management performance and developing economic development policy at the local, regional, national and European level to working with social enterprises on the ground and facilitating community and business events. Eva’s particular strength rests in rigorously relating the requirements derived from the strategic context for projects and programmes to the operational aspects of management, implementation and performance measurement.
Eva is a non-Executive Director of the Riverside Market Community Association, an award-winning social enterprise delivering farmers’ markets and Cycle Training Wales, a social enterprise promoting sustainable transport.
Eva is a fluent speaker of German and Spanish with a good working knowledge of French
Ioan Teifi is a junior consultant and researcher and has been with CMI since January 2013. Ioan holds a BA History and Welsh from the University of Aberystwyth. Ioan is a first-language Welsh speaker, and is well versed in research administration and qualitative research methods.
