Strategic review of physical infrastructure for innovation in the East Midlands

CMI helped East Midlands Development Agency find a baseline for development of a strategy for investment.

This review was commissioned by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) to map the existing incubation and innovation facilities available across the region and provide a baseline for the development of a strategy for future investment in physical innovation infrastructure and associated support mechanisms. CM International assessed the concepts underlying physical infrastructure for innovation, interviewed managers of facilities and other stakeholders in the region, and undertook desk analysis of UK and international good practices. The latter concentrated on exploring the strategic approaches adopted by different regions to developing and co-ordinating their physical infrastructure. The review resulted in a series of recommendations to inform development of the region’s new Innovation Strategy and Action Plan. Client: East Midlands Development Agency (emda)
