CM International undertook this review of Irish services innovation policy and support measures as part of a Europe-wide mapping exercise funded by the European Commission.
The study incorporated a detailed review of supports in areas such as supply- and demand-side measures, internationalisation support and framework conditions for services innovation. It also examined a range of policy areas typically under explored within innovation research, most notably training, accreditation and competitiveness conditions. A further aspect to the research was the development of a series of mapping ‘tools’ allowing graphical categorisation of policy measures in relation to services innovation type (new business models, customer services interface and service product developments) and services intensity (measuring the extent to which a measure was developed specifically for services). The study formed part of a synthesis report produced by the European Commission in the summer of 2007.
