Feasibility Study for a Centre for Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine

CMI conducted a study to assess the economic development rationale for University of Nottingham.

Study to assess the economic development rationale for the centre, which would contribute to the University of Nottingham’s expertise in the application of western clinical standards to traditional Chinese medicines, and produce wider economic benefits for the East Midlands region. The research included a review of regional expertise and assets, plus an assessment of awareness and interest from potential investors and collaborators in China. A good practice review of comparator centres was also undertaken, alongside analysis of the EU and UK policy context for Chinese medicine. The results of CMI’s analysis produced a clear assessment of the potential for the Centre to produce research, health benefits, trade and opportunities for inward investment, and to build on existing links between the East Midlands, University of Nottingham and China.
