CMI commissioned to carry out an evaluation of the WISE Network project delivered by university partners
The Welsh Institute for Sustainable Environments (WISE) Network project is delivered by three university partners in the Wales Convergence region (Aberystwyth University, Swansea University and Bangor University).
Funded by ERDF and a number of universities in Wales, the WISE Network provides enterprise assistance and collaborative R&D support to businesses in the environmental goods and services sector, and those whose business activities impact on the environment. This support is designed to build business R&D capacity and produce long term collaborative R&D links.
CMI are providing a full evaluation service to the WISE Network, including a baseline, mid-term and final evaluation. These evaluations are based on a logic-model and agreed evaluation framework, with documentary and data analysis of performance indicators, longitudinal case studies of collaborative R&D projects, management and delivery workshops and stakeholder interviews. At the final stage a full survey of businesses will also be undertaken to assist with the analysis of final research and innovation, economic and environmental impacts. The approach adopted to this evaluation is fully consistent with adopted UK, Welsh and European evaluation guidance frameworks.
