East Midlands Generic Innovation Support Study

This study examined the potential for creating a generic innovation support service that would provide support to companies and innovators outside of the region’s core innovation network support structures (so-called iNets).

The particular focus was one of examining the potential for this support to be developed around existing sub-regional innovation assets and support services operated by local authorities and other bodies. The study included a mapping and categorisation review of sub regional and regional innovation assets and determined options for a coordinated innovation support service to SMEs in non priority sectors. The results of our research were presented to a workshop of sub-regional innovation bodies such as local authorities, innovation centre managers, and regional agencies.
