This project was based on comparative analysis of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) support mechanisms in 11 countries across Europe and Asia.
This included in-depth documentary and interview research to identify key programme characteristics and results – including name, objectives, eligibility criteria, funding, targets and results, as well as headline figures on the economic context in each country. The findings from the research were then compared against Scotland’s RDI offer and gaps and trends identified. The final analysis was presented in an analytical report, supported by two annexes – an Excel database of key programme data to allow comparison, and individual country ‘profiles’.
